CARON FLORIDA EXPANDS ITS OPERATIONS AND PROGRAMS – Addition of a program for seniors and mental health; Keele Medical Center opens in January 2023

(Delray Beach. Fla.) – Internationally renowned nonprofit expert in the treatment and recovery of substance use disorders, Caron Treatment Centers is expanding its services in Florida with a new medical center and additional programs. Caron Florida, which offers Caron Renaissance programs in Boca Raton and Ocean Drive in Delray Beach, recently added a stand-alone mental health program to meet the growing need for quality mental health care. In early 2023, Caron, Florida will add detox services and a seniors program when it opens its new medical facility, Keele Medical Center. The new, state-of-the-art 100,000 square foot medical center is currently under construction at 4575 Linton Boulevard, Delray Beach.

Due to open to patients in mid-January 2023, the new Keele Medical Center will include a medical detox unit, 40 beds for residential treatment programs, including a program for the elderly, as well as neurocognitive services, research and medical education. It will be staffed with highly trained clinicians, physicians, psychologists, psychiatrists and nurses, with specialties such as integrative medicine, internal medicine, addiction medicine and chronic pain. “We are making a strategic and thoughtful investment in our Caron Florida business,” said Brad Sorte, President and CEO of Caron. “In addition to a new facility that represents a footprint larger than even our Pennsylvania headquarters, Caron Florida will add new programming in Florida. Keele Medical Center will be Caron Florida’s first time providing drug rehabilitation services and Caron’s signature seniors program, which is perfectly targeted for the people of Florida. The need for such services has never been greater. Florida’s population has grown rapidly since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, and demand for health services has exceeded available supply. Caron’s seniors program at Keele Medical Center will include comprehensive diagnostic assessment, medically managed care, daily health monitoring, substance use and treatment for co-occurring mental disorders, chronic pain management, physiotherapy on-site and family support – including therapy and education – that will fill a gap in treatment options for this vulnerable population. Of the 55 million older adults in the United States, approximately 10% will need treatment for a substance use disorder.
