November 18, 2022 Kushagra Katariya, MD, FACS, cardiothoracic surgeon specializing in adult cardiothoracic surgery, including minimally invasive cardiac and structural heart valve procedures, recently joined the Palm Beach Health Network physician group – cardiovascular care network. Dr. Katariya specializes in Coronary Surgery, Mitral Valve Surgery, Aortic Surgery, Aortic Valve Surgery, Pulmonary and Mediastinal Surgery, Catheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) and Mini Surgery. invasive. Prior to joining the Palm Beach Health Network Physician Group, Dr. Katariya served as Chief of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Tuscon Medical Center and worked as a Cardiothoracic Surgeon at Pima Heart Physicians in Tuscon, AZ.

For his education and training, Dr. Katariya completed a fellowship in Cardiothoracic Surgery from Jackson Memorial Medical Center/University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Dr. Katariya also served as Chief Resident during his residency in Thoracic Surgery and completed his residency in General Surgery at Beth Israel Medical Center, Albert Einstein College of Medicine located in New York, NY. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Delhi, India. Dr. Katariya has been practicing medicine since 1989. Additionally, Dr. Katariya has presented his research on cardiothoracic surgery nationally and internationally at numerous heart conferences and meetings, has been published in several medical journals, and has participated as a principal investigator in numerous research trials.

Dr. Katariya’s past professional experience also includes serving as CEO of ONCOR Healthcare, a healthcare company involved in the development of Cardiothoracic and Vascular programs in tertiary and secondary care hospitals in India. Additionally, Dr. Katariya was the founder and CEO of Artemis Health Sciences, where he led the development and operationalization of a 350-bed tertiary care hospital in the National Capital Region of India. Dr. Katariya also has experience teaching medical students as a former faculty member of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.

Dr. Katariya has professional affiliations as a member of the following associations – Southern Thoracic Surgical Association, Society of Thoracic Surgeons, American College of Physician Executives, Asian Association of Cardiothoracic Surgery and International Society for Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery.
